Big names line up for MiTo: Roglič, Pidcock, Pellizzari, Johannessen and…

    17/03/2026

Winning Milano-Torino already carries great prestige in itself. Doing so in the edition that marks the race’s 150th anniversary adds even more value. The Colle di Superga once again awaits the climbers, and the outlook for this 2026 edition is as open as ever.

We still have Isaac Del Toro‘s victory at Tirreno Adriatico fresh in our minds. The Mexican, also the defending champion of Milano-Torino, will not be at the start this year, but several of the riders who challenged him for the Trident until the very end will be there. Among them is Giulio Pellizzari (Red Bull Bora hansgrohe), who lit up the Race of the Two Seas in front of his home crowd, eventually finishing third, as well as his co-leader Primož Roglič. The Slovenian won this race in 2021 but has not returned since. Superga is ready to welcome him back. Also lining up is Tobias Halland Johannessen (Uno X Mobility), fourth at Tirreno Adriatico, who got to know the final climb last year when he finished third and will now look to go even better.

    Milano-Torino 2026, an impressive line-up

Tom Pidcock (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team) returns to racing after Strade Bianche, making his MiTo debut and likely to feel at home on the gradients of Superga. With no overwhelming favourite at the start, many riders will be dreaming of claiming the oldest race in the world. Among them are Michael Storer (Tudor), coming out of Tirreno Adriatico in improving form, Paul Double (Jayco AlUla), Einer Rubio and Cian Uijtdebroeks (Movistar), with the latter eager to deliver his first big result for his new Spanish team.

UAE Team Emirates XRG will line up without their two main leaders but can still rely on an increasingly impressive Jan Christen, supported by two strong cards in Felix Großschartner and Kevin Vermaerke. Alex Baudin (EF Education EasyPost) arrives off a solid Paris Nice, where he finished in the top ten, while the condition of Derek Gee, already looking sharp at the UAE Tour, and especially Tao Geoghegan Hart (Lidl Trek), remains to be assessed.

    The Italians

Among the Italians, keep an eye on Lorenzo Fortunato and Diego Ulissi (XDS Astana), with the latter having already won at Superga back in 2013, as well as Ludovico Crescioli (Polti VisitMalta), Italian champion Filippo Conca (Jayco AlUla), Matteo Fabbro (Solution Tech NIPPO Rali), Alessandro Fancellu (MBH Bank Csb Telecom), Filippo Turconi (Bardiani CSF Faizanè) and Simone Gualdi (Lotto Intermarché).
