Fabrizio Ricca, Councillor for Sports of the Piedmont Region: “Piedmont is the home of great cycling and this competition that will once again cross its roads is proof of how much our territory believes in this discipline. Milano-Torino is a race that has carved out affection and admiration from cycling enthusiasts and we are certain that it will give us great emotions again this year”.
Paolo Bellino, CEO & Managing Director at RCS Sport: “Milano-Torino is a special classic of world cycling, a race that since 1876 has brought to the fore not only the champions who have won it, with excellent examples that we find in the roll of honour, but also the territories that are touched. In fact, the event has an increasingly wide reach thanks to a TV coverage that allows it to be broadcast all over the world. In the last few years we have gone back to our origins, just a few days after Milano-Sanremo, with a route that enhances the characteristics of the fast men who will have to know how to resist the hills of Canavese to be able to compete in the sprint”.
Andrea Orlandi, Mayor of Rho: “We are looking forward to this new start of the Milano-Torino from Rho. Last year we saw so many people on the streets. Rho has a remarkable sporting tradition and a great love for cycling, it boasts champions and young promises. We are trying to involve the whole city, starting with schools. Cycling is a sport that requires tenacity and teaches the values of hard work and training for results. We are happy to collaborate with RCS Sport and to make the name of Rho resound more and more in the magical world of two wheels”.
Roberta Bianchetta, Mayor of Salassa: “Milano-Torino represents a great opportunity for the entire Canavese territory. We have worked in synergy to ensure that the entire community, and the villages touched by the race, can fully enjoy the event. We are thrilled in view of 13 March, the day on which we will create many collateral initiatives that will involve people of all age groups”.
