The Canadian rider Michael Woods (EF Education First) has won the 100th Milano-Torino NamedSport, raced over a 179km route from Magenta to the Basilica at Superga, looking down on the city of Turin. The second finisher was Alejandro Valverde (Movistar Team), while the third to arrive was Adam Yates (Mitchelton – Scott).

Speaking seconds after the race finish, the winner Michael Woods said: “Any time you can beat Valverde is a special time. I was fortunate to have a very strong team today. I maybe attacked a bit too much but I wanted to be offensive and I am glad it worked out.”
